Quality learning through play

Your child will be given a variety of opportunities for age-appropriate development by learning through play. They will be guided to discover and explore the world around them which will help them grow individually and socially.

Located in a safe neighborhood

Our school is located in the friendly and safe community of Rossmoor, CA. We prioritize your child's safety and go above and beyond to make the classroom a warm and encouraging environment for kids to learn and be themselves.

Form strong relationships with other families

Our co-op model not only helps children thrive through parent involvement, but it also creates a culture of friendship for both children and parents.

What Parents are Saying

We like that we always know what happens in the classroom and we know all the other students in our son's class. Friends at other preschools say they don't know much about what happens in their's child's preschool. We've gotten to form friendships with other families, it's helped our son socially, it's helped our son prepare for kindergarten, and our LCP volunteer job has been fun for us to do as a couple.

Artistic expression, playtime, and socialization are high priorities in what is being taught. Our kids get to try so many new activities each week. They have grown in their love and abilities for art. They come home singing songs they've learned and excitingly tell me about the friends they play with and much they love their teacher. I enjoy helping in the classroom and socializing with parents too!

About Li'l Cottonwood Preschool

As a parent, you want nothing but the best for your little one.

Choosing the right preschool program is a big decision, and we understand how important it is to find a school you can trust.

At Li'l Cottonwood Preschool, we use the parent participation cooperative (co-op) model where parents actively participate in their child’s education alongside the teacher in the classroom and in the operations of the school.

We are licensed by the State Department of Social Services and belong to the Orange County Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (OCCPPNS).

With more than 60 years in operation, we believe this model is the best way for preschool children to learn and grow, and it also helps to keep tuition low while providing each student the opportunity to have a nurturing, play-filled learning experience.

60+
Years in Operation

Established in 1959, we have a special heritage and legacy in our community.

1:5

We keep each class small with 15 students max to maintain an enriching learning experience for each child.

Teaching children is my passion and that is felt in the classroom.

Our Philosophy

In support of Piaget's theory, we offer many experiences that are developmentally appropriate. They will be able to experience all of the senses through music, language arts, science materials, literature, dramatic play, nutrition, and small & large motor activities.

Mrs. Wissa believes that is it her responsibility to facilitate the children's learning experience by guiding them to wonder, discover, and explore the world around them.
Children learn best through play
Children are able to make choices and express themselves. With guidance, they learn about appropriate behaviors as they move about their day. We use redirection to help children regain self-control when necessary. Teaching respect for ourselves and for others is essential in our classroom to ensure that all of the children feel safe, valued, and nurtured.
 Social-emotional learning is key
We believe that good communication between parents and teachers can strengthen the connection between home and school which is essential to a happy and productive learning experience for all children.
